For 100 years, the Ocean Beach Women’s Club has been a vital part of our community, bringing local women together through friendship, fun, and philanthropy! Each month, our members gather for engaging meetings, enjoy activities like crafts, cooking, movie nights, book club, happy hours, and celebrations, and give back through volunteering and supporting our Ocean Beach neighbors. This year, we’re joining the parade to honor our legacy of “Making Waves Since 1924.” Come celebrate with us!
Marching with the club is the 2024 Ping Pong Tournament Champion, Raul Gutierrez - otherwise known as
OB-Pong Kenobi.
He’ll be defending his title at the 5th Annual Ping Pong Tournament in September.
Submerge Church has been in OB for 2 years now and meets every Sunday in a community building on Sunset Cliffs.
They're truly committed to the community, serving weekly with local schools, businesses, community organizations & more.
They're all about submerging deeper into loving the neighborhood & loving others!
Classic Woodie station Wagons and original Hawaiian Sampan bus.
This entry is a collection of vintage woodie wagons and original Hawaiian Hilo Sampan Bus. Woodie wagons are synonymous with surfing. Woodie wagons were ideal for carrying longer surfboards and were often used as make shift campers. San Diego Woodies and the OB Hotel wish everyone a merry OB Holiday Season!
Our parade entry starts with a banner that says, "Peace, Love and Books."
Following the banner, a small car decorated with our theme: Peace, Love and Books.
After the car, 25-30 members of the OB Library Friends and staff will follow carrying signs and large children's books.
We encourage all OBceans to visit the OB Library and participate in our many children's and adult activities, and read!
Sacred Heart Academy Preschool has been a part of the Ocean Beach Community for over 50 years. We welcome children ages 2 to 5 as we help them prepare for school. From our family to yours, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a safe, blessed and Happy New Year!
Sacred Heart of Ocean Beach Church was founded in 1911 for the past 113 years Sacred Heart’s congregation has met the needs of the Ocean Beach community.
This year, our parish created a float to spread the message of Christmas compassion. The float depicts the Holy Family alongside a contemporary family in need, visually representing the spirit of giving and empathy that defines the Christmas season.
Ocean Beach Speech is grooving through the parade with their staff, family, and friends! Look for their banner and decked out truck as the group spreads some OB holiday cheer.
The Silver Gate Unicycle Club will be showcasing their dedication and hard work in learning to ride their unicycles.
The Point Loma High School Vanguard and Colorguard has a long history of proudly performing in the OB Holiday Parade, having marched every year since the second! The PLHS Instrumental Music Program serves over 100 students in a variety of classes including orchestra, concert & jazz band, and AP music theory. An annual highlight is Night out on Newport, where our students fill OB with music at several local venues. The Point Loma Vanguard and Colorguard compete throughout the county in the 3A division, and are the pride of PLHS, bringing the heat to every home football game and pep rally. Vanguard is under the direction of Ms. Sierra Johnson. A huge thank you to our Pointer Association Music Boosters for all their hard work in making this year a success!

The Golf Carts of OB, are a group of fun loving, golf cart driving Obecians. There will be 10 carts with family and friends celebrating the beach life!
Get ready to groove into the holiday spirit with an electric take on a Hippie Holiday Hoedown! Our Cybertruck shines bright, wrapped in a dazzling display of festive lights, leading the way to a groovy kind of holiday peace. On top, a laid-back Surfing Santa rides the vibes with a big smile and even bigger holiday cheer. The front is decked out with a glowing OB wreath, and we’re spreading love and good vibes with a classic peace sign. Parrots adorn the sides. Hay Bales in the back. It’s where futuristic tech meets far-out festive fun—surf’s up and Happy Holidays!
Get ready to groove as Cans4Books joins this year's OB Parade! Ruby and Reef are spreading joy, showcasing the nonprofit’s mission of recycling and reading—having recycled over 10,900 pounds and donated 9,600 books since December 2020. With their pals Rupert and RJ, they're rallying the community to create a cleaner, kinder San Diego, one can and book at a time!

Tails of Mana is proud to be the only local dog rescue in OB! Our goal is to help as many animals as we can, we want to share with our community the wonderful work we strive to do and hope to continue supporting each other. To celebrate the holidays we’ve asked some of our success stories to walk with us today, as well those still looking for their forever homes. Peninsula Surf Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit after school surf program for local junior high students looking to improve their board riding skills with an emphasis on community building and engagement.
Hoedown on the Hill is a group of local OB musicians from several San Diego bands, playing hillbilly, country & string band music for nearly 15 years.
Northside Tavern is Northside Country Club Tonight. We have a simple float and just wanted to roll through paying tribute to the beautiful community we are proud to be a part of. Come on down after the parade (or whenever) for some good times, tasty food, amazing drinks and a bar full of awesome folks.
Amy’s Daisies preschool - Nurturing young minds in a magical Waldorf setting. A home away from home. Float Design and fabrication by NP Design, a local design and stained glass studio.
Cheer San Diego Extreme is a cheerleading group that will do cheers and high flying stunts to bring the holiday spirit!
Peninsula Youth Softball Association is a nonprofit recreational league playing ‘softball by the sea’ down the street at Robb Field. Spring registration is now open at peninsulasoftball.com. PYSA is proud to present our 14u Flynn Gold All-Stars - State Finalists; 12u Eversole Gold All-Stars, who placed 9th at Nationals; 10U Lewis Gold All-Stars - Western Regional Champions; 8U Kirk Gold All-Stars - District Champions and 3rd Place at States; 12U Skogen Bronze All-Stars - District Champions; and 10U Clulow Bronze All-Stars District Champions. “Go Breakers!”
Blue Wave Tae Kwon Do has been a part of the Ocean Beach community for almost 50 years and a part of the Ocean Beach Holiday Parade for 20 years. See Blue Wave Tae Kwon Do march and kick their way down Newport Avenue and maybe even break a few boards to please the crowd!
Bluebird Play will be driving a blue and white 1967 VW Bus, complete with festive lights and a crew of walkers to get everyone in the holiday spirit.

A majestic flatbed, glowing brighter than a pub on St. Patrick's night, filled to the brim with lads, lasses, and wee ones, all ready to spread a bit of craic and cheer. If you listen closely, you might just hear the echo of a thousand ‘Sláintes’ and spot the odd jig—mind the Guinness-spilling, though! We’re here to show that when it comes to parades, we don’t just march; we roll in style… and maybe a little sideways, depending on how the morning went!

Bagpipe Band - Bagpipes and Drums.
The Cameron Highlanders, led by pipemajor Charlie Rosenburger, is San Diego's oldest bagpipe band. The Cameron's wish you happy holidays in memory of Steve McCannon of Ocean Beach.
This year we were inspired to approach the Holiday parade in a different way, for years we have watched the parade on the street. We are a family of 5, and have been in OB for 7+ years.
We would love to give our elderly and young a different view this year.
Dad is an amazing surfer, father, neighbor and friend. He is a talented arborist and is using his work truck for the Hoedown parade. We will be mounting some surfboards on the sides of the truck, and decorating it with wrapping paper and other festive things for this hippie hoedown.
Mom of 3 is a superstar, enjoys the outdoors, great music, adventures with the kids, and having blast whatever she’s doing! We have three kids, two boys and a baby girl. The oldest son has attended OBE since kindergarten and this is his last year at OBE. We will have the family on the float dressed as hippie cowboy/girl kids with some holiday spaz.
Our tribe-family and friends are going to be in the parade with us dancing and listening to some great tunes and they’ll be decked out with some creative gear. We will have glow sticks and some lights for added enthusiasm.
Our inspiration for the float comes from a love of all things from back in the day. Good vibes, good people, good music, and just plain good fun times for all.
San Diego Gymnastics and Parkour offers the best fun and fitness programs, such as classes, camps, parties, after school care and competitive teams for kids of all ages at convenient locations, providing flexibility for busy families and kids across San Diego County.

The guys of OMBAC are thrilled to be a part of this year’s OB Christmas Parade with you all. Everyone in OMBAC is excited for the OTL Beer Fest in May, the 72nd Annual Over the Line World Championships tournament in July and the Junior Over the Line tournaments this Summer. The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick was originally formed in Philadelphia on St. Patrick’s Day in 1771 and is the nation’s oldest fraternal charity organization. Early members included Commodore John Barry, General George Washington, Captain Thomas Fitzsimmons, and many more of the most active and influential patriots in our great Country. The San Diego Chapter was formed in 1953 and continues to serve the local community through charitable giving and good times. Here comes Peach Cooler's MOOO-ve on Over Float, a nod to one of the band's original songs (Move on Over). Indie surf meets rock and pop, Peach Cooler is always here to get your feet Moooving. Our float will be a retro red truck with local band Peach Cooler playing music in the truck bed with blow up hippie cows mounted to the truck. It will be the "Moooove On Over" float, and our band will be covered in jeans and rhinestones from head to toe!

Portuguese Community of San Diego & Portugal Soccer fan club is a group of Portuguese San Diego natives mostly from PL and OB that pride themselves in keeping Portuguese traditions alive in SD! Their float will have 25+ participants all in Portugal Soccer gear including flags and other holiday trimmings. We have participated the last 5 years and we absolutely love this parade! Our group hosts social events throughout the year to engage with the community and represent their Portuguese pride through traditions and heritage. The group also founded one of the largest Portugal Soccer fan clubs here in San Diego, and their watch parties are held at The Harp here in Ocean Beach. Favorite Words from the group that you will hear around is "FORCA PORTUGAL" which means Let's GO PORTUGAL!!!!!
The Cool Bus is the camper van of the Burke family, who have lived on Voltaire Street for almost 20 years. They bought a used school bus back in 2019 and converted it during the pandemic. The old rattlebox has become quite the adventure mobile, taking them around OB, the great American West, and through dimensions of time, space, and consciousness.
Ocean Beach People's Food Co-op is San Diego's community owned vegetarian grocery store and vegan deli, since 1971!
The Point Loma Golf Cart Club is a local recreational club whose members have a love for golf carting around our beautiful beach community. They try to enthusiastically participate in local community events, including the OB Christmas parade, where they have a chance to show off their creative golf-cart decorating skills and help bring more joy to our amazing local community.

Here comes the OB Elves from our OB Community, bringing Christmas Cheer on their golf cart. Themed with Christmas lights, decorations and elves with tie-dye shirts. We’re so excited to be here supporting our Community!
JeepHERs San Diego is a safe place for women to come together in a non-judgmental environment to learn how to handle and enjoy their Jeeps. They aim to support women in feeling comfortable asking questions, learn how to off-road safely and enjoy it, all while building positive relationships in the off-roading community. Their goal is to take away the stigma women may feel in the off-roading community, and they are very active in providing community service and supporting local businesses!
The OB drum circle parade float consists of musicians and drummers from within the community of Ocean Beach. Our float consists of various lights and holiday themed decor with drummers playing traditional African rhythms.
SD Peninsula Lions Club was founded in February 1946.
Lions Clubs International is in 220 Countries. We support many activities throughout the year. We are all volunteers so 100% of Donations go back out to help others. President Bob Berardinelli and all our members want to wish everyone a Blessed Christmas and a Great New Year!
The Milky Boys & Girls are Back!! We will be the exact same as the last 3 years, one pick up truck surrounded by Milk Enthusiasts, ready to spread the joy and bring the milk & cookies for Santa!

Friends of Friday Night Volleyball have been supporting the OB Yule Fest non-profit Beach Volleyball tournament for over thirty years. Our float represents the OB holiday spirit with painted crooked trees, presents, and active beach volleyball players. Parade themed music will be playing so please feel free to sing and dance along with us. The winners of our tournament as well as our volunteers will be joining us on or alongside our float.
Fire Station 15 was originally opened in 1915 at 4926 Newport Ave. It was relocated to its current location in August 1949.
Fire Station 15 serves Ocean Beach and its surrounding areas. Engine 15's district is 2.32 square miles.
The fire engine is a pumper which usually carries 500 gallons of water, hose, pump and 48 feet of ground ladders. The primary task of a fire engine crew is: search and rescue, locate, confine and extinguish fire and, when warranted, respond to 9-1-1 medical incidents.
The Ocean Beach Lifeguards, part of the San Diego Lifeguard Service, have been protecting our coastal community since the early 1900s, covering the shoreline from Point Loma to Black’s Beach. This year, they’ll be showcasing their essential vehicles, including a lifeguard truck pulling a rescue boat and the iconic Rescue 44 cliff vehicle. Don’t miss the Ocean Beach Lifeguards as they escort Santa and Mrs. Claus down Newport Avenue, spreading holiday cheer to all!
